Uniform

The Scout Association is a uniformed organisation and we have to comply with the requirements set out by Scout Headquarters.

There is some flexibility allowed in the uniform and each group will define its own policy.

Parents are asked to provide a green uniform sweatshirt and navy blue activity trousers, which their child may wear as soon as they have it.

These may be purchased locally in March at Dobsons, we also suggest checking out Ebay or similar sites for uniform as these can often be purchased in good order at a fraction of the price...  Please note the Necker can only be bought at Dobsons - ask for 2nd March.

You can also order online using Scout & Guide Store - but please speak to Claire first, as we can claim rewards for the pack...

The group supplies a woggle, denoting the six colour, parents need to supply a yellow neckerchief, this should not be worn until Cubs have been invested,

unless previously a Beaver Scout.
The correct dress for any particular activity will be specified on the programme and will be one of the following:

Full Uniform:

Clean official green Cub uniform sweatshirt, neatly pressed and rolled necker, neatly pressed navy blue activity trousers, dark socks and polished black shoes.

Normal Uniform:

Official green Cub uniform sweatshirt or official Cub poloshirt in the summer, neatly pressed and rolled necker, any tidy dark trousers (including navy blue

activity trousers) or shorts, socks and shoes or trainers.

Rough Kit:

Any suitable clothing for the prescribed conditions that is alright to get dirty! Occassionally, leaders may specify the wearing of neckers if the activity

involves members of other groups or specific footwear if appropriate for the activity.

Badge Location

The most common mistake when placing badges onto uniform is when the District and County badges are placed incorrectly on the right arm.

District badge bearing the name FENLAND is worn towards the back where the county badge is placed nearer the front.
